Eco-friendly Rooftop Upgrade Using Recycled Plastic Decking

Last week Upp! installed a brand new, eco-friendly roof-terrace at the Ben Thanh Boutique Hotel, using outdoor decking from recycled plastic waste. Decking material from recycled plastic waste is a new product to Vietnam and a much better alternative to wooden or wood-plastic composite deck material nowadays widely used.

The deck from recycled plastic not only looks great, it’s also extreme durable, even in the weather (sunshine, rain) in Vietnam. It’s lifetime expectancy exceed 50 years. It is easy to clean and maintain (nothing sticks to it), doesn’t rot nor splinter and is less slippery when wet. What’s more, these planks & poles are 100% recyclable, so after use can be re-used or shredded and used as feedstock in the manufacturing process again. A truly circular solution.

Even more important, the use of planks and poles from recycled plastic material also contributes to cleaner and greener environment. It uses plastic otherwise ending up being burned or in rivers and oceans. So Ben Thanh Boutique Hotel really contributes to a cleaner and greener world using deck material from recycled plastic waste.

The roof terrace can now be used for guest events again and this adds to the facilities and an eco-friendly image of the Ben Thanh Boutique Hotel as well.
